The New Druids Series

Duilleog: Gold Award Judge’s Comment

Duilleog eBook Cover August 2016_GOLDSo, the Dan Poynter’s Global eBook Awards 2016 sent me one of the comments from the judges who awarded me Gold in the category Fantasy/Other World Fiction. Here is what one of the judges said:

“A well crafted story, complex and deep. The characters are well presented and developed. I found almost no errors, and reading was a pleasure. Looking forward to the next in the series.”

A very nice comment, I think.

I am working on Stoc, the Third Volume in the New Druids Series. The outline is completed and the writing framework done. I’m pretty excited about the storyline. I knew where the current story arc of Will Arbor would lead – I always have – but discovering the actual journey is so exciting. I didn’t know the details I would finally imagine and now that I have I can’t wait to put it in words. Stoc will complete the Will Arbor storyline and open up the world beyond Belkin for future storylines. And believe me, I have other storylines!

Note: Craobh has been nominated for the Global Ebook Awards 2017. I hope I have the same judge! Wish me good fortune in August 2017.

Craobh Update for Kindle Users

Craobh_eBook_cover_smallI want to let everyone know that the Kindle version of Craobh was missing an essential scene at the start of the last chapter. My apologies, I somehow missed adding the scene to the chapter when I compiled the novel for the Kindle using Scrivener.

All other formats are correct (i.e. CreateSpace, Kobo, and Smashwords).

I contacted Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing and they agreed that the omission was significant enough that it warranted them sending an email to those who purchased it. You should see an email soon. Here’s what they said to me in an email:

“I would like to let you know that our Technical Team reviewed the changes to your book [Craobh], and they consider the content updates to be major quality corrections.

We’ve sent an e-mail to customers who own the book to notify them of the update. These customers can download the update through their “Manage Your Content and Devices” page. At this time, customers who download eBooks through Kindle Unlimited don’t receive updated content. Our technical team is working on improving this process.”

I sincerely apologize for the error. It was entirely my fault. The good news: the last chapter should make better sense now!

Ciao!

GOLD winner of the Dan Poytner’s Global eBook Awards 2016

GEbA_GoldI admit to some degree of surprise but I am very honoured to have been recognised as the winner of GOLD in the category of Fantasy/Other Worlds in the Dan Poynter’s Global eBook Awards 2016 for Duilleog. Duilleog was my first novel in the New Druids series and a novel I wrote to fulfil a long-held desire to see my name on a novel. Now having published book two, and working on number three, I can only wonder how writing has become such a passion. If you haven’t read my two novels, please do so. And leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads!

I wrote Duilleog sometime ago and went through all the pain indie writers go through. Writing the novel was the easy part – it was the formatting, rules, publishing challenges, etc that plagued me. It took me nearly half a year to simply figure out the how of publishing. Craobh took me only nine months start to finish. Stoc will be about the same.

Thanks to the judges over at Dan Poynter’s. You honour me.

This is a sample try of this service for me. Depending on how it works I will probably do more. Sorry: It is for US customers only.

Until then, if you haven’t picked up Duilleog, Volume One then head over to Smashwords to pick it up for free.

I won’t be keeping my books up for long over at Smashwords or Kobo. I’m just not generating hits there. Plus if I solo with Amazon I can enter my books in Kindle Unlimited.
